CHARGES
 
 Over 80% of our clients first come to us after they have had a repair carried out by another company and the problem has occurred all over again, or was  never cured originally.  Anyone can hire a man with a van and some spanners, and it might seem a good deal initially, but you only get what you pay for.
 
  Our service is competitively priced and we believe you’ll find that it’s good value for money. However, we aren’t prepared to give a so-called “Quotation” for a job, unless you’re prepared to pay us our published charges for working this out for you - we are more than happy to work as quantity surveyors, but not free of charge. As a result, we don’t do as much local authority work these days, often only getting to do their work when the company that gave the quote has tried and failed, or gone bankrupt during the contract, leaving the work having to be put right urgently, at which time they often find that our “Step-in” service was less than the price that they were originally given.
 
  We’ll quote you our hourly rate, travel mileage rate, cost of parts, subsistence, expenses etc.  When you get the invoice, all the work will be itemised, the hours spent, the miles travelled, the spares used and the expenses incurred.  We work efficiently and we don’t charge you for hours we don’t do.
 
  We’d rather be honest and keep you as a customer, because it costs far more to get a client than to keep one. We believe that if you upset a client, you upset another hundred that you’ll never ever get to meet.
